You can brand a MDriven Turnkey application by uploading a site logo and favicon through portal.mdriven.net or MDriven Designer.
Add a site logo
A logotype is the logo shown by your Turnkey application. Prepare the logo as a PNG or SVG file, and name the file logo while retaining its file extension.
For example, use one of these file names:
logo.pnglogo.svg
- Open your application in portal.mdriven.net or MDriven Designer.
- Upload the logo file.
- Ensure that its base name is
logo. For example, a file namedCompanyLogo.pngmust be renamed tologo.pngbefore upload. - Publish or run the application and check that the logo is shown.
Turnkey places the uploaded logo in the model's _AssetsTK\SiteAssets folder.
Add a favicon
A favicon is the small site icon that browsers use for a page or tab. Create a favicon at 16 × 16 pixels and upload it with a PNG or ICO extension.
- Create a 16 × 16 pixel favicon.
- Save it as a
.pngor.icofile. - Upload the favicon through portal.mdriven.net or MDriven Designer.
- Open the application in a browser and check the browser tab for the icon.
Although PNG is listed as an accepted upload format, use an ICO file when a PNG favicon does not appear in the browser. If you only have a PNG image, you can convert it to ICO with an external conversion service such as ConvertICO or Website Planet Favicon Generator.
File requirements
| Asset | Required name | Accepted formats | Additional requirement |
|---|---|---|---|
| Site logo | logo
|
PNG or SVG | Keep the logo base name; for example, logo.svg.
|
| Favicon | Not specified | PNG or ICO | Use 16 × 16 pixels. Use ICO if a PNG does not display in the browser. |
Troubleshooting
The logo does not appear
Check that the file is named logo.png or logo.svg, not a different base name such as my-logo.svg. Also confirm that you uploaded the file to the intended application.
The favicon does not appear
Check that the image is 16 × 16 pixels. If you uploaded a PNG file and the browser does not show it, convert the image to .ico and upload the ICO version.
