You can use MDriven videos to learn a task, see a feature demonstrated, and follow ongoing technical discussions whether you are new to MDriven or developing an application.

Find the right video

Start with the subject that matches what you want to do. Use the wiki's Global search when you know a feature or term: search results can include direct links to relevant MDriven YouTube videos as well as wiki content. This is useful when a feature was demonstrated in an older recording.

For example, search for a UI feature such as qualified associations to find both its documentation and recordings where it is discussed.

Video topics

The available recordings cover tutorials and discussions across these areas:

  • MockotypeMockotype is MDriven Designer started in simplified mode. Its dedicated playlist covers modelling with class definitions and diagrams, OCL-derived attributes and association ends, ActionLanguage methods, ViewModels including AutoForms, local Turnkey XML persistence, debugging model instances, documentation, and Turnkey assets and Fashion.
  • MDriven Designer — recordings demonstrate designing models and application views. For example, the AutoForms walkthrough shows how AutoForms lets you create and edit test data from the model before you build ViewModels and actions. It then demonstrates creating an Invoice ViewModel with customer, number, invoice rows, amount, description, and product name.
  • MDriven Turnkey — videos can provide implementation examples for Turnkey applications. Use Documentation:Google Map with Turnkey for the related map example.
  • MDriven Framework — use the videos alongside Documentation:Api documentation when you need API documentation.
  • MDrivenServer — recordings may cover server-related subjects; use Documentation:IIS for the related IIS documentation.
  • Wednesdays with MDriven — these recordings include demonstrations and technical discussions. For example, the February 2025 session discusses qualified associations and demonstrates restructuring an existing UI with placing containers while preserving the initial user experience.

Learn from a walkthrough

Use a recording as a practical complement to the wiki, not as a replacement for the written steps.

  1. Open the documentation page for the feature first. This gives you the feature name and the current written guidance.
  2. Watch the relevant recording and pause at each model, ViewModel, or UI change.
  3. Reproduce the example in your own model. For the AutoForms example, create model data first, then create a ViewModel only when you need a designed view.
  4. Return to the documentation page for exact terminology and follow-up configuration.
  5. Search the wiki again if the recording mentions a feature name that you need to investigate further.

Playlists

The MDriven YouTube material is organized into playlists that include Mockotype, MDriven Designer, MDrivenServer, MDriven Framework, and MDriven Turnkey. Select a playlist when you want a sequence of related videos rather than a single feature demonstration.
