You can use this page to choose the right MDriven help channel, prepare a useful support request, and recover when the MDriven Designer ClickOnce installation does not start.
Choose a support option
Use the option that matches your need.
| When you need help with | Use | What to include |
|---|---|---|
| A product issue, error, or question that needs direct assistance | Email support@MDriven.net
|
A short description of the goal, the steps that led to the issue, the result you expected, and the result you received. |
| A support request you want to register through the wiki | Support registration form | The same information as an email request: goal, steps, expected result, and actual result. |
| A question that other MDriven users may be able to answer, or a problem you want to make searchable for the community | Stack Overflow questions tagged MDriven | A minimal example, the observed behavior, and the MDriven tag.
|
| Getting started or learning a MDriven concept | Start! introduction and the relevant documentation page | For example, use Turnkey documentation when you work with MDriven Turnkey. |
MDriven answers support requests as soon as possible. Requests from customers with active Software Assurance contracts are prioritized.
Get help by email
Send your request to support@MDriven.net.
Write the request so that another person can understand and reproduce the problem. For example:
Goal: Add a null choice to the Color picklist.
Steps:
1. Opened the picklist settings in the ViewModel Editor.
2. Set NullRep to "Choose a color".
Expected result: The user can select the displayed null option.
Actual result: The option is not shown.
For this example, also review Documentation:How Null is represented in your picklist before sending the request. It explains the available Null/NullRep options: None, First, Last, and IfEmpty.
Include information that makes the issue reproducible
- State what you are trying to accomplish, not only what failed.
- List the exact steps in order.
- Describe the expected result and the actual result.
- Include the full error text when one is shown.
- State which MDriven area is involved, such as MDriven Designer or Turnkey.
- Attach or provide a small example when it is safe and relevant.
Do not include passwords or other sensitive credentials in a support request.
Register a support ticket on the wiki
Use the support registration form when you want to submit the request through the wiki.
- Open the support registration form.
- Describe your goal and the issue.
- Add the reproduction steps, expected result, actual result, and any error text.
- Submit the request.
A clear ticket avoids follow-up questions. For example, instead of writing PDF conversion does not work, state whether you are configuring LibreOffice for a Turnkey server and include the configured executable path. See HowTos:Use LibreOffice for PDF Conversion for the required server-side setup and the SysMDrivenMiscSettingsSingleton.LibreOfficeInstallPathAndExe setting.
Ask the community on Stack Overflow
Search the wiki and Stack Overflow questions tagged MDriven before posting. Another user may already have described the same symptoms and solution.
When you post a new question:
- Add the
MDriventag. - Use a title that states the concrete problem, such as
Turnkey picklist does not show the null option. - Include a minimal reproducible example and the exact behavior you observe.
- Explain what you expected instead.
MDriven support subscribes to the MDriven tag.
Troubleshoot a ClickOnce installation that does not start
If the ClickOnce installation for MDriven Designer normally downloads the latest build but does not start, clear the ClickOnce cache and start the application again.
Clear the cache
- Close the application that is failing to start.
- In File Explorer, open:
C:\Users\<YourUsername>\AppData\Local\Apps\2.0\
- Replace
<YourUsername>with your Windows user name. - Delete the files in this directory.
- Start the application again so that ClickOnce downloads the required files again.
You can clear this directory safely; its files are downloaded again when the application that installed them is restarted. The directory can also contain ClickOnce files for other applications, so those applications may download their files again the next time you start them.
If MDriven Designer still does not start after clearing the cache, contact support and state that you cleared the ClickOnce cache, along with the behavior or error message you see.
Find documentation before you ask
The wiki is often the fastest way to find configuration guidance and established solutions. Start with the page that matches your work:
- Start! introduction for a guided introduction to MDriven.
- Turnkey documentation for MDriven Turnkey setup, architecture, guides, features, deployment, and troubleshooting.
- Documentation:TurnkeyUserLogin for Turnkey login options, including password reset, social login, and simulated login.
- Documentation:TinyMCE editor when integrating the TinyMCE editor.
- Documentation:Pattern supported methods to check methods with built-in server support.
